Are you throwing a party this weekend? Maybe you’ve been thinking
about an impromptu get together with some friends. Are wondering what
you could serve that would easy on the budget, tasty, healthy, and quick
to prepare? Check out the five appetizer recipes we posted on our recipe
page at the WDBO
Nutrition & Health Center. The recipes include Green and Red Tapenade,
Mango Shrimp Tostaditos, Mediterranean Mouthfuls, Southwestern Caviar,
and Red Pepper Hummus. The recipes use healthy oils and flavorful ingredients
such as garlic, onions, olives and peppers. Plus, these recipes make it
easy to add more vegetables and fruit to your diet with a lot of flavor.
Do you have a recipe that calls for melted chocolate? You don’t
have to melt it over a pot of simmering water. Use the microwave. Here’s
the trick. Place the chocolate chips or other chocolate that you have
chopped into a microwave-safe bowl and heat the chocolate on high for
only 30 seconds at a time. Stir the chocolate after each 30 seconds. Do
this until the chocolate is almost but not completely melted. Remove it
from the microwave and stir until the chocolate is completely melted.
Even though the holidays can be super busy, you can prepare healthy and
tasty recipes that require little effort on your part. Try some of the
recipes and let me know which recipe you like.
