Hi. I just wanted to let you know I enjoyed the information on inflammation/anti-inflammatory diet. I have Crohn's disease and during a flare of the disease my CRP level has skyrocketed as high as 62 which is out of the park. I have stuck more closely to this type diet (I do have to watch my fiber intake as it makes the Crohn's a little worse) but it seems to help more often than not!

I really enjoy your blog!

Well said! After being a restaurant owner for over 30 yrs I can personally attest that residential kitchens are far more contaminated than good commercial kitchens. Bleach should become your best friend in the kitchen.

I hear what you're saying which is the reason many others give for not particularly liking their gluten free diet. Have you thought of baking your own bread? If you're a foodie and like to cook, this could be fun and enjoyable. Also, do check around your various grocery stores. The variety of gluten free products has significantly increased and many are made with allowed whole grains versus more refined breads without a lot of taste. Let us know if you find a new one that you like.

Hi Patricia,

Glad you found it helpful. I think with children, less is more. We have to remember that their bodies are much smaller than adults and they need less...calories and sweeteners of all types.

Hi Jessika,

You are so right. Being a label sleuth is smart and savvy. Some of the celiac organizations now allow oats in minimal amounts when they have been processed in a facility without other gluten containing items. A good question for your registered dietitian or doctor that follows your case.

"Wheat free is not Gluten Free" - So true! When I first was diagnosed and in a health food store with my mom we saw these cookies labeled "wheat free" and of course we got them. Well I couldn't wait to try them so I opened the box on the way home and started to eat one...thought they were really good so I started to read the box pretty happy about finding some gluten free cookies... well to my dismay they were oatmeal raisin cookies! Needless to say I will always look at the box carefully and read the ingredients just in case!
